Air Canada offers different ways to redeem a variety of fees, travel options and services.
Air Canada Travel Voucher
The Air Canada Travel Voucher was introduced on May 18, 2020 for customers who held tickets for flights that were cancelled on or after March 1, 2020. The voucher is fully transferable, can be used multiple times and never expires.
You can use an Air Canada Travel Voucher to book your next flight on aircanada.com or a flight and hotel package to Mexico and the Caribbean only (excluding group reservations) on aircanadavacations.com.
If you would like to make a booking through your travel agent, please contact them directly.
Once you receive your Air Canada Travel Voucher, please note that it may take up to three business days for the value of your voucher to appear. You can then use our helpful tool to the right to check your balance at any time.
So how do you use your Air Canada Travel Voucher? Look under ‘Payment Summary’ on the payment page if you’re booking an Air Canada flight or making an Aeroplan flight redemption. If you’re booking a flight and hotel package to Mexico and the Caribbean (excluding group reservations) with Air Canada Vacations, look under ‘Payment Information’ on the payment page.
For more information, review the terms and conditions below or visit our Cancellation Options page.

Electronic travel vouchers can be redeemed to cover the base fare of a new booking. Any taxes and surcharges must be paid separately.
Validity
Your electronic travel voucher expires on the date indicated in the email you received. Once your electronic travel voucher expires, it will no longer be valid. Any remaining balance will be reduced to $0.00 and will no longer hold any value.

- Redemption on aircanada.com: If the price of the ticket is less than the value of the ACCredit, the purchase can be made on aircanada.com, otherwise the purchase must be made through our Call Centres. Due to system limitations, an ACCredit can only be used in conjunction with one (1) Gift Card or one (1) eCoupon on aircanada.com. When purchasing ancillary services such as a seat or travel option for an existing reservation, only one (1) form of payment can be accepted at time of purchase. If the ACCredit has a working balance less than the cost of the fee or travel option, please pay with another form of payment.
- Redemption via Call Centres: An ACCredit can be redeemed via Air Canada Call Centres regardless of its value in relation to the cost of the purchase. A maximum of two (2) forms of payment is permitted on a single booking at time of purchase. When purchasing ancillary services such as a seat or travel option for an existing reservation, only one (1) form of payment can be accepted at time of purchase. If the ACCredit has a working balance lower than the cost of the fee or travel option, please pay with another form of payment.

For ticket purchases through your travel agent, you can only use one (1) ACCredit provided that the total cost of the ticket purchase is covered fully. Both forms of payment can be ACCredits as long as the first ACCredit covers the full value of the purchase for one of the passengers and the second ACCredit covers the remaining purchase for all other passengers. ACCredits cannot be redeemed at airport locations or on-board Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or Air Canada Express flights for Air Canada Bistro or duty-free purchases.
- ACCredits can be used as a payment method for bookings made via a mobile device and for payment of self-serve check-in options online. For further details, please refer to Redemption rules for aircanada.com.

- ACCredits are only redeemable on Air Canada toward the purchase of air travel offered by Air Canada and operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge and Air Canada Express carriers and/or the purchase of ancillary services offered by Air Canada in conjunction with an Air Canada, Air Canada Express or Air Canada Rouge flight. Air travel and ancillary services offered by Air Canada are limited to air transportation costs, change fees, pet-handling fees, unaccompanied minor fees, and applicable taxes or any other similar fee that applies to the purchase.
- ACCredits cannot be used for payment of air travel wholly over the services of any other airline, or for the payment of a flight pass or ticket which is part of a group booking.
- ACCredits are not redeemable toward the purchase of Air Canada Flight Passes, Air Canada Vacations products and services, Air Canada Cargo products and services, Air Canada Maple Leaf Club membership fees, or for the purchase of third-party products/services such as duty-free, Air Canada Bistro (e.g., food and beverages), hotel bookings, car rentals and/or travel insurance.
- If the price of the ticket is less than the value of the ACCredit, the remaining value of the ACCredit is retained until the ACCredit expires.
- Once the ACCredit expires, the balance will be reduced to zero, deactivated, and no further usage will be permitted.
- If the cost of the ticket being purchased is greater than the value of the ACCredit, the stored value will be depleted to zero value and the difference must be paid with another ACCredit, Gift Card, eGift card or other accepted form of payment.
- In the case of bookings for multiple passengers using multiple forms of payment (of which at least one is an ACCredit), it is recommended that separate bookings be made for each passenger using an ACCredit as a form of payment.
- ACCredits will not be accepted if the number is invalid, has not been activated, has been deactivated, is declined or cannot be found within the system.
- In the event that a ticket or ancillary service purchased (in part or in full) using an ACCredit is being refunded, the value or the unused portion thereof (based on the terms and conditions of the fare being refunded) that was originally paid for by using an ACCredit will be refunded to the original ACCredit number with the original expiry date. Customers must retain their original ACCredit until the stored value reaches zero and all travel for which the ACCredit has been used as a form of payment has been completed.
- In the event that a ticket or ancillary service purchased (in part or in full) using an ACCredit is being refunded, the value or the unused portion thereof (based on the terms and conditions of the fare being refunded) that was originally paid for by using an ACCredit will be refunded to the original ACCredit number. - Air Canada reserves the right to reject any claim for replacement of an ACCredit where there is suspicion of fraud or dishonesty (e.g., altered ACCredit or false request for replacement).
General
- ACCredits are not credit or debit cards and have no implied warranties.
- Air Canada reserves the right, and the ACCredit holder of the ACCredit agrees, that Air Canada may at any time change the present Terms and Conditions or contract with another third party to administer the ACCredit program.

You can use your eCoupon:
- To purchase an Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge or Air Canada Express flight:
- Online at aircanada.com, by calling our Canadian or U.S. Call Centres at 1 (888) 247-2262, or through a travel agent at aircanada.com/agents
- To pay for a variety of fees, travel options and services (e.g. seat selection, unaccompanied minor service, pet handling charges, change fees)
Your eCoupon cannot be used:
- Toward the purchase of air travel not offered and operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge and Air Canada Express
- As a method of payment for mobile bookings or at airports
- On board for Air Canada Bistro or duty-free purchases
- During any web, mobile or kiosk check-in process to pay for any fees or last-minute upgrades
- When booking travel for a group of 10 or more
- For hotel bookings, car rentals, and/or travel insurance
- Toward the purchase of Air Canada Flight Passes, Air Canada Cargo products and services, Air Canada Maple Leaf Club memberships

If the cost of the ticket being purchased is greater than the value of the eCoupon, the stored value will be depleted to zero and the difference must be paid with another eCoupon, Gift Card, eGift card or other accepted form of payment.
Multiple eCoupons
- For ticket purchases, you can use up to two (2) eCoupons provided that the total cost of the ticket purchase is covered fully by both eCoupons.
- Due to system limitations, a maximum of two (2) forms of payment is permitted on a single booking at time of purchase.
- For example, for a booking involving multiple passengers, each holding a separate eCoupon, the total cost of the purchase must be covered fully by two eCoupons or one eCoupon and another form of payment.
- It’s also important to know that you cannot consolidate the value of multiple eCoupons onto a single eCoupon.
Seat or travel option purchases for an existing booking:
- Unfortunately, because of system limitations, only one (1) form of payment is accepted when purchasing a seat or travel option for an existing booking. If the fee or travel option cost is greater than the balance of the eCoupon, please use another form of payment. You will then be able to request that the credit from your eCoupon be refunded to your original form of payment. Here’s how:
- Contact Customer RelationsExternal site which may not meet accessibility guidelines.
- Provide proof of the form of payment used to pay for the seat or travel option
- Include the details of your unused Air Canada eCoupon
Refunds
If you purchased a refundable fare or travel option, the portion paid with an eCoupon will be refunded to your original eCoupon if the eCoupon is still active. For eCoupons that have expired, the portion paid with an eCoupon will not be refunded and the value of the eCoupon will be lost.
Customers should retain their original eCoupon until the stored value reaches zero and all travel for which the eCoupon has been used as a form of payment has been completed.
Lost or stolen eCoupons
- Treat your eCoupon with care. Air Canada is not responsible for any stored value balance if the eCoupon is lost or stolen. If it is lost, stolen, or used without authorization, the value will not be refunded.
- Air Canada reserves the right to reject any claim for replacement of an eCoupon where there is suspicion of fraud or dishonesty (e.g., altered eCoupon or false request for replacement).
General
eCoupons are not credit or debit cards and have no implied warranties.
Air Canada reserves the right, and the eCoupon holder agrees, that Air Canada may at any time change the present Terms and Conditions or contract with another third party to administer the eCoupon program.
If you still have questions about your eCoupon, please call Air Canada Reservations at 1 (888) 247-2262.
