At Air Canada, with the continuous record-high level of oil prices, a fuel surcharge has been introduced and added to the price of international tickets for all passengers issued on or after March 1, 2005. Please note the following fuel surcharge and its details for all international travel originating and ticketed in Japan. We highly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Conditions
- The fuel surcharge will apply to international tickets for all passengers except infants without seats (same amounts for adults, children and infants occupying seats).
- When a ticket is presented for refund, the full amount of the fuel surcharge shall be returned.
- The Fuel surcharge is shown in the TAX box of the ticket. (Code-YQ)
- For ticketing on/before 31MAR 2023
When a ticket presented for refund, the full amount of the fuel surcharge shall be returned. - For ticketing on/after 1APR2023
When a ticket presented for refund, the full amount of the fuel surcharge shall be returned for refundable ticket.
The fuel surcharge shall not be returned for non-refundable ticket.
Amendment/Abolition
- The applicable fuel surcharge is based on a two-month average fuel price of Singapore Kerosene and will be fixed for two months as below table. The Singapore kerosene price will be based on Japanese Yen converted from USD using the average exchange rate in the same two-months period. In case of further fuel surcharge changes, Air Canada will apply to the government for approval in applicable countries. If the two-month average fuel price falls below JPY6,000, Air Canada will apply to the government for approval in applicable countries to abolish the fuel surcharge.
