You and your travel companion(s) travelling on the same reservation can access Preferred Seats with extra legroom, such as those in exit rows on flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Express and Air Canada Rouge, with the purchase of an eligible fare.

Note that you can enjoy complimentary Preferred Seats (subject to availability) with the purchase of Latitude or comfort fares.

You and your companions travelling on the same reservation can enjoy a 50% discount on Preferred Seats, which offer extra legroom, on flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Express and Air Canada Rouge, with the purchase of an eligible fare.

Enjoy the convenience of the Air Canada Priority Check-in counters when travelling on flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Express and Air Canada Rouge. Aeroplan 50K Members may check-in at a Star Alliance Gold counter when travelling with any Star Alliance member airline. Aeroplan 50K Members may also use the Air Canada Business Class Check-in when travelling on any Air Canada flight when departing from Toronto Pearson International Airport. Super Elite Members have access to exclusive check-in counters in Calgary, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

Subject to space availability, you can invite immediate family members* (spouse and dependent children) and a first guest at no charge, when you and your guest(s) are travelling on a same-day Air Canada flight or any Star Alliance member airline. Visitors under the age of majority must be accompanied by an adult.

*Immediate family members are defined as a spouse (legally married or common-law partner) and up to five dependent children (up to and including the age of 24, part of the family unit and still financially dependent on the Aeroplan 50K Member). Air Canada reserves the right to request proof of age for dependent children at any time.

Each pass is valid for access to Maple Leaf Lounges located in the domestic and U.S. zones of Canadian airports, as well as those in Los Angeles and New York (LaGuardia and Newark). Passes can be used with a confirmed same-day departing ticket for scheduled Air Canada flights. Visitors under the age of majority must be accompanied by an adult.

Choose this Select Benefit and requalify for Aeroplan Elite Status for the next benefit year at a lower requalification level* of 45,000 SQM or 45 SQS.

*Note that the published Status Qualifying Dollars requirement will continue to apply at every status level, and that the lower requalification levels apply only to the status levels indicated above.

If you are expecting a baby or welcoming a new child into your family, and plan on taking a parental leave, you can request an extension and continue to enjoy the benefits of your Elite Status when you return to flying more frequently. Air Canada is proud to have been the first airline in North America to offer this benefit.

To request your extension, please send an email to Elite.Parents@aircanada.ca and include a copy of proof of parental leave from your employer as well as a copy of the certificate of childbirth, adoption or fostering.

Terms and conditions

Aeroplan Elite Status Members who are on an extended leave of absence from work in order to spend time caring for/preparing for a child to join their family (including adoption and fostering) will be eligible for an Elite Status Extension. In order to qualify for an Elite Status Extension, eligible members will need to provide documentation proving their maternity or paternity leave, along with certification of childbirth, adoption or fostering. Following review, documentation provided will be destroyed. Upon commencing more frequent travel following their leave, the Elite Status Extension will enable the member to enjoy the same status held prior to going on leave. Note that Elite Members who hold Elite Status that was granted as a special offer or as part of the "Aeroplan Elite Status for a friend" Select Benefit are not eligible for Elite Status Extension. Elite Status Extension is a discretionary benefit, and Air Canada reserves the right to decline an application for, or to change the offer of, an Elite Status Extension at any time, at its own discretion.
