Accessible travel

Air Canada is committed to being a leader in accessible travel. We believe in providing our services and reimagining our spaces with accessibility in mind.

Non-visible disabilities

If you have a non-visible disability, we offer a few options to help you on your journey. If none of the options below meet your needs, you can also choose to have a note added to your file that you have a non-visible disability.

Unaccompanied adult service

If you are 12 or older and consider yourself self-reliant, you can choose to have some extra assistance during your trip. Our unaccompanied adult service is a great option for neurodiverse individuals who would like some reassurance.

Please note that this service does not apply to passengers who are not self-reliant. If you’re not self-reliant you'll need to travel with a designated support person.

If you’re travelling on a flight operated by another airline, you’ll need to contact that airline directly to validate that they provide a similar service.

For complete details on our unaccompanied adult service, or to request it, please contact Air Canada Accessibility Services.

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program

The Hidden Disabilities SunflowerExternal site which may not meet accessibility guidelines and/or language preferences. program is a way for you to voluntarily share that you have a non-visible disability or condition and that you may need extra help, understanding, or time.

When you request a Sunflower lanyard from one of our crew and wear it on board, we can provide the support you need to feel comfortable.

Sunflower lanyards are available at various Canadian airports that recognize the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program. Find the full list of Sunflower-friendly airports.
