How to earn

Each Priority reward voucher is earned based on Status Qualifying Dollars (SQD), and your Elite Status at the time you reach each SQD level. Earn a voucher when you cross the 4,000, 7,000, 10,000 and 15,000 SQD – up to a maximum of 50,000 SQD.

Where to use

Vouchers must be used to book a flight within one year from the date you earn them, or they will expire.

How to use

Using your Priority Reward vouchers is easy! As long as you’re logged in to your Aeroplan account, you’ll see your available vouchers after you search for an eligible flight on aircanada.com or the Air Canada app.

Log in to your Aeroplan account via the Air Canada® + Aeroplan app.

Tap on the ‘Aeroplan’ tab at the bottom of the screen.

Scroll down to the ‘Available Benefits’ section to see your available Priority Reward vouchers. Each voucher is valid for one flight reward, for one passenger.

Tap on Priority Rewards and continue to your booking.

What is a Priority Reward voucher?

Priority Reward vouchers entitle Aeroplan Elite Status Members to discount the base fare in points of an eligible flight reward by 50%. (Taxes, fees, charges, and, where applicable, the partner booking fee are excluded.)

How many SQD do I need to earn a Priority Reward?

You can earn a voucher once you cross the following SQD Thresholds:

  • $4,000
  • $7,000
  • $10,000
  • $15,000
  • $20,000
  • $25,000
  • $30,000
  • $35,000
  • $40,000
  • $45,000
  • $50,000

When can I expect my Priority Reward to be deposited in my account?

Vouchers will be deposited within one week of reaching a Status Qualifying Dollar threshold.

How long do I have to use my Priority Reward?

Priority Rewards are valid for 12 months from the date of issuance. Reservations using a Priority Reward must be made before 11:59pm GMT on the voucher expiry date; travel may occur after the voucher expiry date subject to flight schedule availability at the time of reservation.

What type of flight reward can I book with my Priority Reward?

Priority Reward vouchers can be applied for travel in certain geographic zones and cabin classes and depend on the Aeroplan Elite Status you held when you earned them.

  • Aeroplan 25K: Canada / US – Economy. Vouchers apply for travel wholly within Canada and the United States (including Hawaii) in Economy Class.
  • Aeroplan 35K and Aeroplan 50K: North America – Premium Economy. Vouchers apply for travel wholly within North America (including Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and Hawaii) in Economy or Premium Economy classes.
  • Aeroplan 75K: Worldwide – Premium Economy. Vouchers apply for travel worldwide, in Economy or Premium Economy classes.
  • Aeroplan Super Elite: Worldwide – Business. Vouchers apply for travel worldwide, in Economy, Premium Economy, or Business classes.

How is it determined what type of Priority Reward voucher I’ll receive?

The voucher you receive will be based on the Elite Status you hold at the time of reaching each SQD threshold level.

What happens if I have more than one Priority Reward voucher?

The Priority Reward voucher must be redeemed at the time of Flight Reward reservation, and if multiple vouchers of the same type are available for the itinerary, the voucher with the most imminent expiration date will be used first automatically.

Can I book for more than one passenger using a Priority Reward?

No, one voucher is required for each passenger on the reservation (regardless of whether it’s booked as a one-way or roundtrip itinerary). Each voucher can be applied to one Flight Reward, per passenger, for 50% off the price in points.

Can I gift my Priority Reward to someone else?

The voucher may only be used as described, cannot be transferred to another Aeroplan account, and has no monetary or exchange value. You can however use your Priority Reward to book travel for another person. The Aeroplan points needed to complete this reservation will be deducted from your account balance.

I made a booking using a Priority Reward which I now want to cancel. Will the voucher I used be refunded?

If the itinerary is cancelled before the voucher’s expiry date, it will be refunded to your account with its original expiry date. Any vouchers whose expiry date was prior to the cancellation of the itinerary will not be refunded and will be forfeited.

If the Elite Status I have today is different than the one I had when I earned my Priority Reward voucher, will my vouchers be updated to match my new Status?

No, your Priority Reward vouchers will stay exactly as they were earned. A change in Elite Status, either up or down, does not have an impact on the eligible geographic zones or cabin markets for your earned Priority Reward.
