Starting April 2, 2025, eligible citizens of the European Union (E.U.) will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to travel to or through the United Kingdom.

The same requirement is already in effect for eligible citizens of Canada and the United-States.

To apply:
Travellers will need to apply for an eTA onlineExternal site which may not meet accessibility guidelines and/or language preferences. at least three days before departure.

Cost and validity:
The application costs £10 GBP per person. Once approved, the eTA is valid for two years.
