New Distribution Capability (NDC) technology allows travel agents to have access to our most comprehensive products with access to Air Canada inventory, fares, ancillary services, ticketing, and digital products. We continue to release new enhancements to improve our NDC functionalities.

1. What are some of the terminologies used for NDC bookings?

2. Does NDC include ‘booking on hold’ functionality?
Yes, payment can be deferred based on the ticket time limit validity.
3. Can SSR be added to NDC bookings?
Yes, all complimentary SSRs can be added via NDC.
4. Does the 24-hour refund rule apply to NDC bookings?
All bookings made via an Air Canada direct booking channel can be cancelled and refunded within 24 hours of purchase.
5. Which services can be purchased in NDC?
Flight related services offered at aircanada.com and aircanada.com/agents are offered in NDC.
Other options, such as Carbon Offset will be considered for future releases.
6. Can an NDC order be divided?
Yes.
7. Are AC codeshare and interline flights offered via NDC?
Interline carriers and Air Canada codeshare flights offered at aircanada.com and aircanada.com/agents are offered on NDC channels.
8. What forms of payment are accepted?
- Cash, in BSP and ARC markets
- Credit cards; up to 2 per ticket.
- Exception for Brazil and India: Cash only
- UATP
9. Does Time of Ticketing apply to NDC bookings?
NDC tickets are eligible for the existing commission programs, and Time of Ticketing. When applicable, commission is automated.
EXCHANGES
10. Can Future Travel Credits from NDC tickets be applied in NDC channels?
No. The agency must call the Contact Centre with the necessary information to allow Contact Centre agents to apply FTC to the new booking.
Air Canada is looking at building the functionality to allow use of FTC in NDC channels.
11. How many exchanges are permitted on NDC?
There is no limit to the number of exchanges via AC NDC channels.
WAIVERS
12. Can waivers be added to NDC bookings?
Yes, our process for direct channel bookings also applies for NDC bookings.
This means:
- Goodwill and Travel Alert Rebooking Policy from Daily Travel Outlook waivers are automatically added when the agency makes a change within the rebooking window parameters.
- Other waivers to direct bookings must be added by Air Canada Contact Centre.

13. Once registered, how long will it take to receive login credentials?
Once you have completed the registration, credentials will be provided following a validation period.
14. Is there a limit to how many agents can register per agency?
No.
15. Can Meetings and Conventions be booked on AC Connex?
Yes.
16. Can tickets booked in AC Connex be purchased with AC Wallet?
No. It will be evaluated for future phase.
