Effective June 17, 2024, Air Canada simplified the DCR to only apply to lowest fares booked in each cabin; currently PNRs containing G, K, A, P booking classes. Exemptions remain in place for Groups, Corporate travel and Hong Kong.
Does the DCR fee apply to all GDS tickets?
Yes, except for:
- Corporate contract tickets with a valid tour code in the endorsement box
- POS HKG tickets only for POO HKG
- Group bookings

Does DCR apply per PNR or per tickets?
DCR is charged to applicable tickets that include at least one segment booked in G class for all services except Atlantic, K class for service Atlantic, and A and P class for all services.
Does DCR apply to infants?
DCR does not apply to any infant tickets.
Does DCR apply to PNR that includes other airlines’ segments?
Yes. DCR applies to applicable 014 issued tickets to itineraries that include:
- AC marketed and operated flights;
- AC marketed flights operated by other airlines.
Does DCR apply to exchanged tickets?
For tickets issued on/after June 14, 2023, the YR on the original ticket will be carried to the exchanged ticket.
Does DCR apply to original tickets issued before June 14, 2023, and subsequently exchanged?
Voluntary exchanges
For travel within North America, original tickets issued prior to June 14, 2023, exchanged on/after implementation date, are subject to DCR.
For international travel, DCR applies for changes to outbound segments. DCR does not apply for changes to inbound segments, as historical fare is used.
Involuntary exchanges
DCR does not apply.
Does DCR apply to Air Canada Group tickets that are subsequently voluntarily exchanged?
DCR applies to 014 issued tickets to itineraries that include:
- AC marketed and operated flights;
- AC marketed flights operated by other airlines.

Does commission apply to DCR?
No, taxes, surcharges and fees are not applicable for Time of Ticketing.
When the value of a ticket is transferred to AC Wallet or a UATP card, is the DCR also transferred?
