What is Continuous Pricing?
Continuous pricing (CP) is a new, innovative, modern retailing method to dynamically offer prices to our mutual customers. It enables Air Canada to price continuously, rather than through the traditional pre-filed fares.

What are the benefits for our mutual customers?
- Continuous pricing enables Air Canada to provide our mutual customers with a more gradual change to prices offered. For example, with traditional pricing offers, whenever a fare class sells out, a customer may see a significant jump in the price. Under continuous pricing, the fare slowly increases with each purchased seat.
- In addition, Continuous Pricing also aligns our technology with our Atlantic Joint Venture partners, who have already implemented their versions of Continuous Pricing.
On which booking channel and Point of Sale does Continuous Pricing apply?
Continuous Pricing applies to bookings made in Canada and the U.S. and to the following modern retailing channels:
- Air Canada NDC and AC Connex
- NDC enabled GDS
- aircanada.com
- air Canada Mobile app
- Air Canada Contact Centers (planned for Q2 2025)
Later this year, Continuous Pricing will be offered to other points of sales, Aeroplan and Air Canada Vacations. Dates will be communicated closer to implementation.
Why is Continuous Pricing not offered on aircanada.com/agents?
Continuous Pricing is built for direct channels with modern retailing technology.
Aircanada.com/agents runs on a legacy platform of aircanada.com, not built to interface with modern retailing. As such, Air Canada fares may be lower at AC Connex, Air Canada’s free and intuitive NDC desktop booking tool designed for agencies.
Are prices returned through Continuous Pricing lower than filed fares?
Continuous pricing applies to all classes and cabins except for the highest and lowest booking class in each cabin. Prices returned may be lower than fares available through traditional GDS-Edifact systems, or even aircanada.com/agents.
On which markets does Continuous Pricing apply?
Continuous Pricing was rolled out in phases, within North America. By end of October 2024, several markets were added within North America, and between Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. This year, Continuous Pricing will gradually be offered to all Air Canada’s worldwide destinations.
Does Continuous Pricing apply to private fares, such as Corporate and Leisure fares?
When continuous pricing is offered on eligible direct boking channels for a specific origin and destination, it also applies to private fare bookings.
Does Continuous Pricing apply to all itineraries?
Continuous Pricing applies to AC marketed and AC operated flights until such time there is technology to support continuous pricing to AC codeshare fights.
Is Continuous Pricing offered to all sale transactions?
Continuous Pricing is offered on original sales. Air Canada plans to offer Continuous Pricing on exchange transactions once the ticket exchange functionality on the Air Canada Passenger Reservations system is operational later this year.
Are Continuous Pricing PNRs managed by the Contact Centres?
Yes. PNRs that can’t be self-managed on original booking channels can be managed by the Contact Centres.
Does Time of Ticketing apply?
Yes, on eligible itineraries.
