Redeem your shared points easily

Using your shared points balance

All points are redeemed from the family sharing balance, no matter who the redemption is for. Points are redeemed proportionally from each member’s account, so everyone contributes a balanced amount.

You can check your family sharing balance online any time you want.

Leaving or dissolving a Pool

Other

Does joining an Aeroplan Family Sharing pool affect my Aeroplan co-branded credit card benefits?

Joining an Aeroplan Family Sharing pool does not impact the benefits associated with your Aeroplan co-branded credit card. You’ll continue to earn points and enjoy the card's benefits individually, regardless of your participation in a pool.

Learn more about Aeroplan credit cards and their benefits.

Does joining an Aeroplan Family Sharing pool impact my ability to earn or maintain Aeroplan Elite Status?

Family sharing does not affect any Member’s Aeroplan Elite Status. You'll continue to progress towards status individually while a member of a pool. Learn more about Aeroplan Elite status.

Will my Aeroplan points expire if I am part of a pool?

Aeroplan Family Sharing does not impact points expiry.

Members in a Family Sharing pool have 18 months to keep their individual accounts active before their account becomes inactive and their points expire. Earning activities will only keep an individual member’s account active, as points are earned in each member’s account. However, since points are deducted from all Family Members’ accounts when redemptions are made from the pool, everyone’s account is kept active when a redemption takes place.

Can I transfer my Aeroplan points to other members outside of my Family Sharing pool?

You can transfer points to an Aeroplan Member who is not part of your pool at any time for a fee. If you’re part of a Family Sharing pool, the transfer will come from all Family Members’ accounts in the pool and not your individual account.
