Passengers travelling to European Union (EU) countries are asked to take note of stringent regulations that apply to the importation of restricted products such as meat and milk products for personal consumption. New! Travelling to or from the USA? Additional passenger information is now required
The United States Customs and Border Protection Agency recently implemented new requirements of air carriers to provide new additional passenger information in advance of travel to/from the USA including Puerto Rico.

Passengers traveling to/from the USA are currently required to provide the following information in advance:

  • Full Name
  • Gender
  • Date of Birth
  • Citizenship
  • Passport Number
  • Passport expiry date
  • Passport country of issuance
  • Country of residence
  • Your address while in the U.S., or if visiting various locations, the address for the 1st night in the USA (except for US citizens or Legal Permanent Residents)

Specific categories of non-U.S. citizens are also required to provide fingerprints and a photograph upon entry into the United States.  This excludes most Canadian citizens entering the United States for purposes of shopping, visiting friends and family, vacation or short business trips.  More information is available on the United-States Department of Homeland Security website.

When is this information required?
This information is required at check-in for departures.

I am a US legal permanent resident, must I provide additional information?
No. However, you are required to provide your alien registration number.

What information do I need to provide if I am transferring to another flight in the US that goes outside the US?
If your onward flight leaves within 8 hours of your arrival, you need to provide your flight number and destination.

What information do I need to provide if I am transferring to a cruise ship?
If you are transferring to a cruise ship on the day you arrive in the USA, you need to provide the name of the cruise line, ship name and the port of embarkation.

What address information do I provide if I am returning on the same day?
Provide the address of a location where you will be spending time during your visit to the United States (for example, the address of where a meeting you are attending is being held).

What information do I need to provide if I am renting a car and do not have an address for the 1st night?
Provide the information on where you expect to be staying in as much detail as possible.

What information is required for passport country of issuance?
This is the country that issued your passport. If you are traveling using a Canadian passport, this will be Canada, even if the passport was issued at a Canadian embassy or consulate outside Canada.

If I am traveling without a passport, what information must I provide?
If the travel document you have is not a passport, you will be required to provide the travel document  type and all other required APIS information.

Can my travel agent provide this information to the airline?
Travel agency computer systems are gearing up to help collect the data, however it is likely that you will have to provide some information at check-in.
