We recommend allowing plenty of time at the airport for check-in, especially if you are checking baggage and also for the security check.
Customers travelling on two separate tickets, connecting from Air Canada to another airline will only be checked in as far as the destination on their Air Canada ticket, with the same rule applying to their baggage.
Important information for passengers flying on code share flight(s).
You must obtain your boarding pass and check in any baggage by the check-in deadline, and be available at the boarding gate by the boarding gate deadline.
NOTE: Passengers must be familiar with and respect check-in and boarding times. It is essential that passengers present themselves at the gate with respect to the boarding times outlined above. Failing to meet these deadlines may result in the reassignment of any pre-reserved seats, the cancellation of your reservations and/or ineligibility for denied boarding compensation.
Check-in Tip: To avoid airport line-ups, try our convenient Web Check-in, or why not use our Self-service Check-in kiosks available at most airports used by Air Canada. Find out more about our check-in kiosks, including locations.
Important: the check-in deadline for flights to and from the U.S. increased to 60 minutes prior to departure time.
