For time and temperature-sensitive shipments requiring a temperature-controlled environment to ensure product freshness and stability, AC Cargo offers AC Cool Chain, a selection of three solutions each designed for the specific needs of your commodity. AC Cool Chain includes: AC Absolute°, AC Pharmacair and AC Fresh.

The AC Cool Chain solution takes into account all IATA regulations for the handling and transportation of temperature-sensitive commodities, from pharmaceuticals to perishables and everything in between. This specialized solution offers you the possibility to transport your cargo in your choice of active or passive packaging.

DuPont™ Tyvek® Air Cargo Covers

Air Canada Cargo offers DuPont™ Tyvek® Air Cargo Covers as an optional value-added feature for AC Fresh and AC Pharmacair shipments.

Tyvek® Air Cargo Covers are specifically engineered to address the threat of cold chain breaks during air transit - when temperature-sensitive products are at the greatest risk for temperature excursions. Validated in a wide variety of applications worldwide, Tyvek® air cargo covers provide:

  • Proven protection against temperature excursions caused by extreme solar radiation
  • Breathability, allowing oxygen to reach the product avoiding suffocation and damage
  • Breathable barrier allowing excess moisture to escape
  • Protection from physical hazards such as rain, dust, and insects
  • Easy installation

DuPont™ Tyvek® Air Cargo Covers are available in LD7 pallet size and are available shipments originating from:

  • Lima
  • Bogota
  • Santiago
  • Frankfurt
  • Copenhagen
  • Istanbul

The covers will soon be available at more stations across our network.

DuPont™ Tyvek® Air Cargo Covers can be reserved for Air Canada Cargo shipments at the time of booking.

  • AC Cool VideoExpedited tarmac time at origin, transit and destination stations;
  • Refrigerated and ambient holding areas (ambient temperatures vary by station);
  • Shipping check sheet for AC Absolute°;
  • Compliance with IATA regulations;
  • Efficient transport and handling processes;
  • Specific tender and retrieval times and
  • Shipment tracking.

 

AC Absolute°

AC Absolute° is designed for the transportation of temperature-sensitive commodities that require an active temperature controlled unit. High value healthcare products, high value food products and any other commodities that are extremely sensitive to time and temperature are ideal for this solution. Various types of containers utilizing dry-ice and electrical-based temperature control technologies are available to you based on the specific needs of your cargo.

AC Pharmacair

AC Pharmacair is designed for the transportation of temperature-sensitive health care commodities (e.g. vaccines, pills) that are pre-packaged to maintain the desired product temperatures and do not require an active temperature controlled unit.

AC Pharmacair is offered at select Air Canada Cargo stations.

Both Priority1 and Standard Service levels are offered for our AC Pharmacair Solution:

Standard

Our reliable and cost-effective option for shipping cargo throughout our network and beyond.

Suitable for shipments that are not of an urgent nature and do not require any form of special handling.

Priority1

Our premium Service level designed for time-sensitive shipments and/or shipments requiring some form of special handling.

AC Fresh

AC Fresh is designed for the transportation of temperature-sensitive (non-healthcare) products (like fresh fruits, vegetables, game meat, lobster, fish and other seafood) that are pre-packaged to maintain the desired product temperatures and do not require an active temperature controlled unit.

Note: For all seafood shipments, special commodity rates (SCR) will apply.

Our reliable and cost-effective option for shipping cargo throughout our network and beyond.

  • All shipments must have a confirmed booking and be ready for carriage prior to acceptance.
  • To make a booking, or for pricing information, please contact your local Air Canada Cargo office.
  • Due to some aircraft types, weight, weather and regulatory restrictions, we may not be able to transport your shipment to all the destinations we serve. Contact your local Air Canada Cargo office for details.
